The evening will address whether the world can vaccinate its way out of the COVID-19 pandemic anytime soon. Caplan will discuss how, despite many pronouncements to the contrary, vaccines are not a magic bullet.
This talk will explain the obstacles facing research and distribution of any COVID-19 vaccine, how we ought to manage the distribution of limited supplies, what steps need to be taken to address the growing distrust of vaccines and the likely role of vaccine mandates.
The Center for Ethics is funded in part by the ENDOWMENT FUND for the TEACHING of ETHICAL DECISION-MAKING.
