Presented by Lehigh@NasdaqCenter and the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, Women in Technology and Innovation is a 7-week seminar course for Lehigh students with an accompanying guest speaker series hosted by Samantha Walravens that is free and open to alumni and friends of the University. The series looks at the transformative role women play in promoting prosperity and human progress through technology and innovation. We shine a light on the remarkable women who are building companies and technologies that transform the way we live and work, and who are paving new paths for female entrepreneurship and gender equality. It also examines and the challenges that women in tech continue to face, including sexism, gender discrimination, unconscious bias, impostor syndrome, and more.
Join special guests Bärí Williams, diversity advocate and startup advisor, and Jossie Haines, VP, Software Engineering at Tile, as they discuss challenges and opportunities for women and other underrepresented populations in tech. From discriminatory algorithms, the connection between diversity and innovation, and practices that assume uniformity in the workplace, learn why it is essential for innovators to keep diversity, equity, and inclusion front and center.
