Unwind: A Guided Meditation, with Holistic Healing Practitioner and Guest Artist, Elizabeth Polito

Thursday, Oct 3, 7:30-9:00pm / Taylor Gym – 3rd Floor Studio

Learn how to quiet the mind, release tension in the body, relax the nervous system, and promote balance in all aspects of your life using the science-backed practice of Yoga Nidra, otherwise known as Yogic Sleep. This is a guided meditation technique that induces a state of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness, directly influencing the physiology of the body and stimulating the healing process. One hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to three hours of restorative sleep! If you ever find yourself feeling tired, anxious or overwhelmed, this practice can help – you’ll find that, in a very short time, you’ll be feeling relaxed, focused and energized – and ready to tackle whatever comes next! This class is for Every Body and is usually taken lying on a yoga mat, but can also be done seated in a chair. Participants will be provided with a recording of the guided meditation after the workshop - this is a great tool to have in your wellness toolbox!!

*Wear comfortable clothes, layers and socks.

*Bring a yoga or exercise mat, pillows or a blanket/rolled up sweatshirt for under head and knees. We’ll have some extra mats, pillows and blankets available for those who don’t have their own.
