About this Event
30 Library Dr., Bethlehem, PA 18015
Everyone’s talking about the war in the Gaza Strip, but why did it happen now? Why does it raise such a high emotional response? What can we do about it? Come and hear experts in this teach-in and join the conversation. The event will be divided between three 10-minute presentations, followed by an hour of Q&A. Prof. Nitzan Lebovic will talk about the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict; Prof. Sa’ed Atshan will talk about pacifism, peace, and justice in Palestine/Israel. Prof. Allison Mickel will talk about how looking at objects--from artifacts to infrastructure--can reveal even more about conditions of oppression and possibilities for peace
This event is restricted to Lehigh University students, staff, and faculty. The event rules will follow the Lehigh Student Code of Conduct that requires all participants to keep mutual respect and intellectual honesty for each other.
