Research Presentation Abstract: This presentation, Building Inclusive Communities: Community-Engaged Research and Community Mobility, will provide an overview of how collaborative research approaches can advance inclusion for individuals with disabilities. They will highlight key principles of research engagement, emphasizing collaboration with community partners, and the use of accessible resources to support meaningful participation in research. The presentation will also discuss community mobility intervention research and the use of peer support as a critical component of independence, participation, and access to education, employment, and social opportunities. Finally, the presentation will discuss the intersection of community mobility and assistive technology, illustrating how assistive technology is embedded in intervention processes, while also highlighting collaborative partnerships to examine the effective use of assistive technologies within natural settings.
