Carol Hay, University of Massachusetts Lowell, presents "Solidarity, Intersectionality, and Resisting Oppression."  Prof. Hay is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the Universityy of Massachusetts Lowell.  Her work focuses primarily on issues in normative ethics and analytic feminism, concentrating largely on the moral obligations that arise in oppressive social conditions.  Prof. Hay received the 2015 Gregory Kavka/UC Irvine Prize in Political Philososphy for "The Obligation to Resist Oppression," chapter 4 of her book Kantianism, Liberalism, and Feminism: Resisting Oppression.  Her work-in-progress includes a forthcoming book with W.W. Norton, entitled Quite Contrary: A Feminist Survival Guide.
