Real Talk Series - Globalization and Intercultural Competency | Multicultural Affairs

Thursday, November 7 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm

University Center, UC204
29 Trembley Dr, Bethlehem, PA 18015

In an era of globalization where scholar Samuel Huntington has predicted a clash of civilizations, different identities are beginning to overlap. There is an increasing hyper-awareness of attempting to preserve an "authentic" cultural identity and differentiate yourSelf from the Other. Often, this process of identity shaping interferes with the development of intercultural competence. This real talk discussion aims to break down these barriers in order to promote more effective intercultural interactions while still embracing individual cultural identities.
