Public Meeting: Temporary Closure of Packer Ave

Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Broughal Middle School, Auditorium

Lehigh University will host a community meeting to present plans for the temporary closure of Packer Avenue between Vine and Webster streets. The street will be closed for 45 days beginning March 9th, and ending April 30th.  University representatives, city officials and outside consultants will be on hand. The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, in the Broughal Middle School Auditorium, 111 West Morton St. All are welcome.

At the public meeting, Lehigh representatives will review the plan, which would limit any vehicle traffic on the street that cuts through the university’s Asa Packer Campus to service and emergency vehicles only. That section of Packer Avenue will be closed from March 9th through April 30th. At the conclusion of the trial period, the data collected will be shared with the community at another public meeting to be scheduled.

Questions and comments about the trial closing of Packer Avenue can be directed to communityaffairs@lehigh.edu.
