About this Event
Embarking on this excursion to the museum in Washington, D.C. affords our students a valuable opportunity to immerse themselves in the pioneering contributions of African Americans. This educational journey provides our students an interactive platform for gaining insights into significant historical events, prominent figures, and essential facts. It is crucial to underscore that education transcends physical boundaries; it empowers young adults to discern the omnipresence of history in our lives, thereby shaping our identity as Black individuals within various contexts. We are hoping to bring students to this museum with the help of the Africana Studies Department to make sure the excursion catalyzes students to unify and actively engage with the contributions of numerous influential Black leaders who maintain enduring connections with the scholarly pursuits currently underway.
