About this Event
The Lehigh University Department of Mathematics is hosting a virtual “Lehigh Valley Math & Statistics Day” event on March 12 (Sun) at 1pm for undergraduate students to celebrate pi-day!
This year, we are excited to have four great speakers presenting on (see attached flyer):
(1) "Real-World Applications of Mathematics” given by Dr. Darren Narayan, Lehigh Alumnus;
(2) "Working and Hiring in the Financial Industry” given by Dr. Wei Wu, Associate Director at SIG;
(3) "Polymath Jr.: A Global Undergraduate MATH Research Community” given by Dr. Johanna N.Y. Franklin, Organizer of the Polymath Jr program
(4) "Applying and studying in Statistics/Data Science graduate programs” given by Dr. Zongming Ma, PhD Coordinator and Associate Professor at the Wharton School, UPenn.
There is a panel discussion session following the presentations for students to ask questions!
