The Future Maker Speaker Series, a new series at the university, will provide the community with a window into the early stages of important societal, economic, and industry changes. We seek to bring to Lehigh’s campus individuals recognized as innovators and disruptors, those whose work is actively shaping the future of critical industries, disciplines, and sectors of society.

Our first guest in this series is Jared Isaacman, founder of Shift4 and Draken International.

As a visionary entrepreneur, transformative business leader, accomplished pilot, and record-setting astronaut, Issacman is the ideal guest to kick off the Future Maker Speaker Series. Profoundly impacting the financial technology, defense, and aerospace industries, Isaacman’s technologies and companies have ensured American leadership in financial services, as well as cut costs and improved efficiencies in the defense sector.

Issacman has over 7,500 hours in aircraft ranging from commercial to fighter jets and commanded Inspiration4, the world's first all-civilian mission to orbit, as well as Polaris Dawn, a five-day mission to space whereby he reached the highest Earth orbit ever flown and conducted the first commercial spacewalk.
