Dipesh Chakrabarty teaches History and South Asian Studies at the University of Chicago. His publications include Provincializing Europe: Postcolonial Thought and Historical Difference (2000; 2008), The Climate of History in a Planetary Age (2021) and One Planet, Many Worlds (2023). In his book The Climate of History in a Planetary Age, Chakrabarty argues that climate change upends long-standing ideas of history, modernity, and globalization.
