Join us for a dynamic and enlightening FREE workshop focused on Culturally Responsive Teaching in the Arts. In a rapidly diversifying world, it is essential for educators to create inclusive and culturally aware learning environments that resonate with the experiences and backgrounds of all students. This workshop aims to equip educators and instructors and enthusiasts with the tools, strategies and insights to foster an environment where creativity flourishes and cultural understanding thrives.

Participants will learn about the benefits of teaching from art and material culture, such as promoting critical thinking skills, enhancing visual literacy, and fostering cross-disciplinary learning. Through lecture and interactive activities, participants will explore ways to integrate art and material culture into their curriculum, including selecting appropriate artifacts, developing inquiry-based questions, and facilitating student-led discussions.

Presenters include Flavia Zuñiga-West, Amy Pfeiler-Wunder and Heather Kuruvilla.
