ABSTRACT: The power industry is in the middle of its most significant transformation in over a century — and artificial intelligence is at the center of it. But what does AI adoption actually look like inside a regulated utility? What's working, what's not, and what's coming next?

Gina Weber, Managing Director of the Utility Analytics Institute, has a front-row seat to how the nation's utilities are navigating this shift. Through UAI's Generative AI Community — a peer network of utility data, analytics, and AI leaders — she has tracked the industry's AI journey from early experimentation in 2024 to real-world deployment in 2025.

In this talk, Gina draws directly from that body of knowledge to explore how utilities across the country are applying AI to grid operations, customer service, asset management, regulatory compliance, and workforce productivity. She'll cover what's driving adoption, where governance and data quality are creating friction, and what the next generation of energy leaders needs to understand to be effective in an AI-enabled utility environment.

BIO: Gina Weber is the Managing Director of the Utility Analytics Institute (UAI) and a lead program strategist for T&D World Live, both part of Endeavor Business Media. She works at the intersection of energy, data, and innovation — convening utility executives, engineers, and analysts to tackle the industry's most pressing challenges. Through UAI's annual events, peer communities, and growing membership platform, Gina has a direct line to how utilities across the country are adopting analytics and AI to modernize the grid, improve reliability, and navigate an increasingly complex energy future.
