Abstract: European nations have been leaders in tackling climate change, and the aggressive timeline for the energy transition in Europe has previously enjoyed high levels of political support. However, recent events threaten to dramatically increase costs and hinder progress. The pandemic's impact on the economy and supply chains, elimination of Russian natural gas supplies, erosion of clean energy industrial capability due to competition from China and the United States, and emerging populist pressures all combine to make the transition to a clean energy future in Europe an increasingly harrowing endeavor. Come join us for this seminar!
