For nearly 40 years Lehigh University Press has been publishing academic books that have made important contributions to scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.
In this K@N session, LUP's managing editor, Nate Carpenter, will present:

  • The history of Lehigh University Press
  • The book proposal process
  • Differences between academic and trade presses
  • How book proposals compare to other types of academic proposals, such as grant and fellowship applications for scholars

This Knowledge @ Noon will be of interest to those curious about Lehigh's history with academic presses, anyone interested in book publishing, and early career scholars, including graduate students, in the humanities and social sciences or any field where publishing with an academic press is an important marker of scholarly achievement.
