Lehigh University is pleased to introduce the Electronic Personnel Action Form (EPAF) for hiring new staff.  The EPAF replaces Lehigh’s paper versions of the Personnel Action Form (PAF) and the Personnel Action Notice (PAN) for new staff hires. 

The EPAF is a Banner process that originates in the hiring department and is forwarded along the applicable approval chain.  The final destination for the EPAF is Payroll where the employee profile and the job are finalized in Banner. 

The EPAF will expedite the new staff hiring process.  Currently we are only using EPAF for new staff hired through HR, but soon the use will expand to faculty and student hiring. 

The EPAF is currently available to use for new staff hires. 

Beginning March 1, 2024, EPAF will be the only acceptable tool for new staff hires.  After March 1, payroll will no longer accept paper PAF forms for new staff hires, although paper PAF forms will still be used for faculty and student hires.

·        Friday February 9, 9:00 am.

·        An EPAF training session will be included as part of the Employment Coordinators meeting on Wednesday, February 21, at 9:30 am.

·        Monday February 26, 10:00 am

The training is beneficial for EPAF Originators and Approvers.  Information about EPAF roles is found on the EPAF FAQ in the payroll section of the Controller’s Office website.  There you can also download step by step instructions on how to create an EPAF.
