The former editor in chief of The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and The Miami Herald and former senior editor at The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times will be this year’s second speaker for the Compelling Perspectives program on December 5 at 6:00 p.m. in Packard Laboratory. Guided by this year’s theme, the role of media in contemporary society, Marty will discuss traditional media as a critical source of information following the results of the recent U.S. presidential election. He will also discuss the challenges in competing with non-traditional media sources and the spread of mis- and disinformation.
