About this Event
Join us for a research presentation and discussion with Prof. Anand Jagota. This talk will describe a novel approach proposed by a team working on the detection and quantification of multiple biomarkers in biofluids for disease diagnosis using an artificial perception system we call a Molecular Perceptron (MP). At its core, the MP comprises an optimally selected collection of hybrid nanomaterials – a nanosensor array –interrogated by high-throughput spectroscopy. The nanosensor array elements are drawn from the DNA-single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) family. We apply machine learning methods both for selection of hybrids for the nanosensor array and to relate spectroscopic features to the presence of biomarkers.
