The establishment of the Alpha Sigma Petitioning Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi at Lehigh University follows a structured and highly selective process governed by the national fraternity. Throughout the petitioning period, the chapter has demonstrated strong academic performance, leadership involvement, and professional excellence in alignment with AKPsi’s core values. The group has met national requirements, including maintaining a minimum of 40 qualified colonists, completing all required education and training programs, and securing support from Lehigh University faculty, administration, and fraternity leadership. After successfully fulfilling these standards, the Alpha Sigma Petitioning Chapter will be formally installed as an official chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi on February 28, through a ceremonial installation that includes official rituals, member initiation, and the presentation of the chapter charter.
