On Wednesday, May 18, 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. EDT, the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC) Information Literacy Learning Community will host a virtual chat entitled, “An Information Literacy Challenge: Getting Students to Ask Good Questions.” In this discussion, Barbara Fister, a well-known information literacy advocate and Residence at Project Information Literacy (PIL), will discuss her latest essay, “Principled Uncertainty: Why Learning to Ask Good Questions Matters More than Finding Answers,” which was published on February 16, 2022 in the Project Information Literacy Provocation Series. The event is limited to 75 - 85 librarians, faculty, and staff, who register in advance here. Kelly Cannon, Scholarly Communication Librarian at Muhlenberg College’s Trexler Library, will host the 50-minute session.

Following the discussion, LVAIC librarians will share instructional activities that facilitate student inquiry and participants will have opportunities to share their own instructional practices that get students to ask good questions. Programming will continue until 11:00 a.m. EDT.
