The talk will draw from an examination of the social constructions of body, health, and illness through the lens of select ancient texts preserved on bone, bronze, bamboo, silk, and paper and of other material cultural artifacts, extending from the 11th century BCE to the 10th century CE. The focus will be on divination methodologies as a diagnostic and healing strategy.
